Commitment comes in many forms.
The commitment I am talking about is commitment through learning. At Tahzoo, I find myself learning something new everyday. Whether I am sitting in leadership meetings, researching the latest in technology, teaching myself to code, learning from my co-workers, or receiving feedback from my manager. For me, there is nothing more exciting than learning.
Learning is key to commitment and weeds out the types of employees you have in your organization. When you are learning at your place of work, it sparks a small fire inside of you. This fire is what brings you back every day. This fire drives you to out perform yourself from the day before.
As this fire grows, as you learn more and more, you realize that eventually the fire stops growing. This doesn’t mean that your job here is “done,” it means that you have to come to work everyday, committed to continuous learning and to innovation.
Perhaps after you’ve traveled your career path for a million miles, you will find yourself having achieved your dream of success…but it is never about reaching your dream that makes you successful, it’s about the journey. What you learned, and how you committed your time in an effort to be the best version of yourself.
Maybe if the stars align, you’ll reach your goals tomorrow. Maybe you will reach your goals someday. Regardless of where you end up, what matters most is your commitment to making it happen.
